Manifesto

The Conservative Front is dedicated to the true principles of Conservatism. Great Conservative thinkers like F. A. Hayek, Russell Kirk, Adam Smith, Edmund Burke, many of the Founding Fathers and others dedicated their lives to the study and promotion of these principles. We will provide further exposition of why these principles are superior to all other political philosophies.

What is Conservatism? Many have thought that Conservatism is simply defined as a dedication to things past, or a rigid adherence to social mores that were popular yesterday. We do not promote or believe that definition. In fact, the core principle of Conservatism is quite different.

Conservatism is the promotion of those ideas that preserve liberal society as a whole, enhanced and expanded but intact and unspoiled, for future generations. George F. Will has written, “The primary business of conservatism is preservation of the social order that has grown in all its richness — not preserving it like a fly in amber, but protecting it especially from suffocation or dictated alteration by the state.”1

We hold to those ideals that have been proven over time, and are calculated to continue to promote prosperity and encourage the growth and progress of society economically, morally, spiritually, and politically.

In fact, Conservatism is true Progressivism, wherein we believe in true societal progress and growth. Conversely, the actions and ideals of those who call themselves Progressives or Liberals seem destined, in our opinion, to create ruin and despair for society. The essays, books and articles found on this site explain why we feel so.

We believe that politics and religion are both forms of government designed to elevate the soul of Man. They share a common purpose, which is “the steady emancipation of the individual through the education of his passions.”2 Where Mankind has no moral compass, no “anchor to the soul,” the state must become primarily an instrument of coercion. This is a violation of its true character. Self-government is only possible among a people who are both politically and religiously moral. Our Constitution was not designed for a people who are otherwise.

We believe that the State was made for Man, and not Man for the State. As the State is the creation of Man, Man is therefore the Master and the State, the servant. It is a violation of natural law for that which is created to have power over it’s creator. We hope that the current system, upside-down as it is, will right itself without the attendant violence that usually accompanies such corrections to the natural order.

The Conservative Front is dedicated to the true potential of Humankind. We believe there are enough resources available to all and to spare. Most importantly, we believe that Humankind can only reach its true potential when there are no economic barriers to anyone, so that each individual can achieve their innermost desires. Such can only be realized through the release of the will of Humankind to operate freely and without oppression, protecting the inalienable Rights of Mankind, while also expecting them to live in accordance with the duties associated with those Rights.
