Utah Democratic Rep Splits with Obama on Health Care

To his credit, Rep. Jim Matheson says he cannot support the idea of socialist health care, but he would like to see some free-market solutions. Good for him!

Of course, Rep. Matheson coincidentally is number three on the list of House members who have taken money from private health industry sources. Fortunately, we don’t need his vote to reform health care with a robust public option on day one (just like Medicare, which was denounced as “socialized medicine” in the 1960s).

  2. My poor, deluded friend, there is no such thing as a “robust, public option.”

The very fact that it has to be subsidized by government negates any robustness it might have had.

  3. Matheson has done some right things. But we must remember that he is a democrat and he has done some wrong things too. But it is nice when he makes the right decisions.
