Presidential Plagiarists

By Trenton Hansen

Barak Obama, in his famous “lipstick” remarks, demonstrated that he is not speaking his own words, but is borrowing heavily from others.

Glenn Beck, in his newsletter, pointed out how Keith Olberman seems to be advising Obama.

On Monday Sept. 8, Keith Olberman said this to Barak Obama:

“At your convention, maybe the most compelling speech in Denver was that one strongly voiced word, “Enough.” A lot of people who have felt angry about what’s been done to this country in the last seven or eight years have that same sense of urgency and simplicity to it. Have you thought of using on the campaign trail and in your speaking engagements more exclamation points? Have you thought of getting angrier?”

And during the lipstick speech, Obama said this:

“Because then we go another year or another four years or another eight years without addressing the issues that matter to you. Enough!”

Then, the good folks at Sweet and Light posted this cartoon by Tom Toles, originally published on Sept. 5:

And these are Barak Obama’s words, from the lipstick speech, just a couple of days ago:

The similarities are striking. The most disconcerting thing is that the two men Barak is borrowing from are completely opposed to what Conservatives would call the American Idea. Barak is parroting the ideas and thoughts of people grossly out of touch with Mainstream America.

Obama’s running mate, Joe Biden, has had his own problems with borrowing ideas. I guess birds of a feather do flock together. Obama seems to have picked someone who is a reflection of himself. That speaks volumes about Obama.

What’s worse is that Barak Obama, as a college professor, would have given the standard “don’t plagiarize” speech to his students at the beginning of every semester, or should have. How can anyone regard him with any respect now, especially those who’ve ever been in one of his classes?

Obama has been criticized for obscuring his true self. It’s now beyond question; his critics are onto something. Barak is either not capable of speaking his own mind, because there is nothing there to give, or he is hiding what is there out of fear of the reaction of the people. Either way, we are not getting the real Barak Obama; we are getting the opinions of hardcore leftists. Either way, his presidency would be catastrophic for America.
