John McCain (RINO-AZ)
I was listening to Laura Ingraham this morning when she played audio of McCain and Hillary being interviewed by Tim Russert while they were in Iraq. Russert asked the two of them if each thought the other would make a good President.
Of course, they both laughed and talked about both getting into trouble, but then McCain offered this:
“I think Sen. Clinton would make a good President. Of course, I’m a Republican and so I would have to support a Republican nominee, but I think Sen. Clinton would make a good President.”
By contrast, Hillary said she thought McCain would make a good President, but she offered no apologies for having to support the Democratic nominee.
In case you missed it, if McCain has to explain that he has to support the Republican because of his own Republicanism, then he is no Republican at all. He is merely playing the role and is trying to pass himself off as something he is not.

Out of context. What McCain really meant that Hillary would make a good president, but he’d have to vote right. He wouldn’t choose Hillary Clinton over anybody.
The context is intact. You haven’t demonstrated how my analysis is out of context.
I disagree, of course, with your interpretation. Since you are not John McCain, you cannot tell us what he “really meant” and your comment is nothing more than an excuse for his apologetics.
So, why did Hillary not make a similar qualifier? Are you inferring that she might vote for John McCain? I doubt that you were, but I hope you can see my point.
