The Stupidity of Chris Dodd

By Trenton Hansen

Chris Dodd was interviewed by Bill O’Reilly this week. As the drug-induced love-fest over at Daily Kos approaches, Bill asked Mr. Dodd to distance himself from the vile, disgusting images and comments routinely posted there.

Mr. Dodd, in the typical, Liberal fashion, attempted to avoid the question by trying to turn the tables on O’Reilly, claiming that O’Reilly was missing the real issue–that he (O’Reilly) disagreed with the ideology of those who post at Daily Kos, and that it was actually O’Reilly who was the hateful, vile spewer of filth. He even attempted to use a long discredited “study” from the University of Indiana as proof of O’Reilly’s mean-spiritedness. (Side note: is this what our taxes are being used for?)

Mr. Dodd is completely wrongheaded about this. Dennis Miller is also on video criticising Dodd for pandering to the lunatics at Daily Kos just to get an “attaboy” from them. Miller also let O’Reilly have it for even giving Dodd the time of day. I see Miller’s point, but I think I agree more with Bill, that the American People should see what kind of creep Dodd is to align himself with the creatures that inhabit the den of vipers at Daily Kos.

Dodd attempted a logical fallacy, saying that Daily Kos gets over 500,000 visitors each day, while the number of posts like the one O’Reilly showed were a very small number. Dodd did not address the fact that the image O’Reilly showed had been on the site for a year, and that all those people visiting the site are exposed to that kind of vile hatred and disrespect for our elected officials.

Furthermore, Dodd’s claim that the real issue is O’Reilly’s dislike of the ideology of the folks at Daily Kos is just plain stupid. What ideology can Dodd point to that promotes the kind of stuff O’Reilly showed? It is no ideology that fosters that kind of behavior; it is plain, simple hatred of Bush and anyone that agrees with him in the slightest. Is modern Liberalism an ideology of Bush Derangement Syndrome? Even I will give it more credit than that. No, this is not the fruits of any recognizable ideology. This is just evil. And Dodd’s inability to distinguish that evil proves beyond reasonable doubt that he should not ever hold public office again. I am ashamed for him.
