Time to Repeal the 17th Amendment

The efforts of the Founders in creating a system of government based upon checks and balances on power have suffered many attacks in the succeeding 215 years since the adoption of the Constitution. But none have been so effective at destroying what they sought to accomplish as the 17th Amendment.

As gay marriage rises to the level of national crisis, the movement to enact an amendment to the Constitution grows. People are frustrated at being dictated to by a handful of social engineers in black robes. Many arguments have been put forward opposing gay marriage. The consequences of legalization are the focus of this column.
